MDT Hunting Bottom Metal

MDT Hunting Bottom Metal gives a hunting rifle the flexibility of AICS-pattern detachable magazines in a slim, light package. At about 95 g in anodised 6061 aluminium it adds very little weight, and its smooth profile has few snag points for carrying through thick bush.

The magazine release has an integrated lock with adjustable tension, so a magazine cannot drop out while you are crawling, climbing or riding on the back of the bakkie. Corrosion-resistant hardware stands up to the weather, the trigger guard has room for aftermarket triggers and a slot for trigger adjustments, and washers are included for setting the thread engagement of the action screws.

It is available for the Remington 700 short action and CIP long action (Badger M5 profile), the Tikka T3/T3x short and long action, and the Savage short action. If your stock does not have a micro-chassis, use the MDT Bottom Metal Pillar Kit.
