MDT .223 Rem Metal AICS Magazine (10 Round)

MDT .223 Rem Metal AICS Magazine (10 Round) is a 10-round AICS-pattern magazine for 223 Remington / 5.56 NATO. MDT makes it from high-strength steel, nitrides it and then finishes it inside and out with Cerakote Elite, giving it excellent corrosion resistance and a slick internal surface so the follower runs smoothly.

MDT’s Double Stack Single Feed (DSSF) design staggers the rounds side by side and brings them into a single column at the feed lips, so the magazine is about ¾” (19 mm) shorter than a standard AICS magazine of the same capacity, which makes magazine changes easier when you are shooting prone. Two internal ribs cut friction between the cartridges and the magazine body and smooth the change from double stack to single feed.

Polymer feed-lip inserts extend about 0.5″ past the steel feed lips, holding each cartridge for longer so the bullet tip is already in the chamber before the rear of the case is released.

MDT bottom metal: MDT CORE, Hunting and Precision Bottom Metal (short-action versions). Not the CORE Bottom Metal for Howa 1500 / Weatherby Vanguard, which takes polymer magazines only.
