MDT .223 Rem Polymer AICS Magazine (12 Round)

MDT .223 Rem Polymer AICS Magazine (12 Round) is a 12-round detachable box magazine for .223 Remington / 5.56 NATO rifles fitted with a short-action AICS-pattern bottom metal or chassis. It is moulded from glass-filled nylon, which keeps it light, makes it quiet going into the magazine well and means it never gets painfully hot or cold to handle, whatever the weather.

MDT’s Double Stack Single Feed (DSSF) layout staggers the cartridges side by side lower down and brings them into a single column at the top, so 12 rounds fit in a magazine that is noticeably shorter than a conventional AICS magazine of the same capacity. The shorter body is easier to manage when you are shooting prone or off a bag, and makes magazine changes quicker.

The polymer has a high glass content for strength, and the magazine uses a tempered steel spring. MDT tests these magazines hard, to the point of driving cars and trucks over them, and the floor plate comes off for cleaning and maintenance.
